It’s a little known fact that Oregon law mandates any business serving alcohol must also serve food. That fact along with the discriminating palates of the local residents, makes for the perfect recipe for an outstanding Happy Hour! I’m always looking for great happy hour recommendations, so what better way then to go straight to the community to find out exactly where the Wilsonville hotspots are? Here is what I found:
#1 Oswego Grill
Topping our list, Oswego Grill offers some truly unique happy hour fare! From it’s spicy Macaroni and Cheese with Italian spicy sausage, cayenne pepper, Gorgonzola, cheddar, Monterey Jack and Parmesan cheese to Pork Tenderloin Sliders topped with house-made barbecue sauce and coleslaw, there really is something for everybody on the extensive menu! And whatever you do, leave room for the scratch made ricotta cheese and vanilla donuts, rolled in cinnamon sugar and dusted with powdered sugar. Served with house-made caramel sauce. You won’t regret it! Plate prices range from $2.95-$5.95 so I encourage ordering several things and sharing with the table. “Their late night bites in the bar are worth the trip!” (Judy Newton)
Hands down the number one recommendation for great wine paired with delicious food. If you have a wine lover in your party, Abella’s is the place to be! This happy hour menu doesn’t lack imagination! Try the Warm Dates with gorgonzola and balsamic glaze, the Chianti Burger (A quarter pound of ground sirloin blended with chianti and seasonings with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and garlic aoli) or something as simple as a cheese or pepperoni pizza. Prices vary from $3-$8, but make no mistake, many of the items can be enjoyed as a full meal! An order of their Chicken Saltimbocca prepared with marsala, fresh sage and prosciutto and a nice glass of Danzante Pinot Grigio, Veneto, IT will only set you back $13.50!
Available Everyday, 4:00pm to Close.
Another great menu with unique items such as Armadillo Eggs and Pickle Chips (my personal favorite!). It’s a great place to grab one of their specially crafted brews, watch your favorite sports team and enjoy the high energy atmosphere. Plate prices range from $2.95-$7.95 for truly generous happy hour portions.
Served everyday 3pm-6pm and 9pm – Close
SUNDAY BREAKFAST served 10am – Noon
This is a lesser known location, but still extremely popular with locals! “I mean its total pub food but on another note we went there for dinner last night. Best halibut fish n chips I ever had!” (Helen Cunningham-Williams). This menu leans more toward traditional Pub Fare (clam strips, fries, halibut sliders, etc.) so if you’re in the mood for some good old fashioned comfort food, Boston’s is a great choice! Plate prices range from $4-$5.
Served daily from 4:00-7:00
Juan Colorado on Citizen’s Drive (Rumor has it they are adding a margarita happy hour before year’s end … fingers crossed!)
Holiday Inn BooneTown Bistro and Bar
Vanguard Brewing (food menu limited to finger foods such as popcorn, but regularly have food trucks available in the parking lot. Check Website for details)
On the Green Bar and Grill
