Save Yourself a Headache: Get a Home Inspection

Inspections on new construction are often overlooked by the buyer’s purchasing the home. The common misconception is that with a brand new home there won’t be any issues because everything is recently constructed.

While the home built by a reputable builder should be in pristine shape, no builder is perfect and things can get missed. Every home inspection I have done on new construction with clients things turn up that got overlooked, missed or done improperly, it’s just the nature of the beast.

One of the inspections that gets most overlooked with new construction is the sewer scope, which is astounding to me because the cost is around $125, yet broken sewer lines can be $2,500-$10,000+ to repair.

At the end of the day, inspections are insurance for you, the buyer, to ensure everything is in working order the way it should be before you take possession of your new home.

For help finding great local inspectors,  give the team at Beltran Properties Group a call at 503-502-3330. Or, feel free to swing by our Wilsonville real estate office located at 29100 Town Center Loop W, Suite 130, Wilsonville OR 97070.
