Let’s face it, it rains a lot here! It’s argumentatively Oregon’s best and worst element.
When looking for a new home, we all want to have a vision of that perfect home on the most perfect day… sun shining, birds singing, the grass glistening with dew in the front yard. This may be a beautiful scene to envision, however, seeing the home in only the best light may leave you with unforeseen issues when inclement weather hits.
It will benefit you as a buyer to see the home in different weather, so save the tour or inspection for a rainy day!
Just recently I toured with a client who had seen the home previously on a walk through the neighborhood on a bright sunny day. He really liked the home exterior, and was excited to see what the inside was like. The day we scheduled to see the home, a spring rain shower was passing through, putting the home in a completely different light; with gutters over-flowing, water pooling on the grounds and near the foundation and a very mossy roof. It didn’t sway him from looking inside, it did however put us on alert to look for other water damage evidence once inside.
Understanding potential issues before making an offer is always a better and stronger position for any buyer.
It’s essential to have an experienced agent to help guide you through the touring process. Make certain you have a strong team on your side. Here at Beltran Properties we do our best to give our clients a clear road to success!
