Spring is finally here!
Along with the beautiful flowers and blooming trees, longer days and warmer weather, children are on Spring Break.
If your Spring Break vacation will be a staycation, you don’t need to stay cooped up all week. Here’s a quick list of some of the diverse adventures to get you and your children out of the house. With ideas for all ages, and everything easily accessible by transit, this is your guide to a fun filled, action packed, Portland spring break staycation.
- Ride the newest roller coaster at Oaks Park
Fun fact: Oaks Park is one of the few remaining trolley parks; an amusement park designed to be visited via transit. Their newest roller coaster, Adrenaline Peak, launched March 24th
- Visit animals at the Zoo
Visit the zoo and play a fun game. Have your kids rank each animal on a 5-star review system. See which ones are their favorites and then give them a 5-star rating. Spoiler alert: they’re all five out of five stars.
- See a Trail Blazers game
Don’t look now but the Trail Blazers are on their way to the playoffs! Take your kids to one of the few remaining homes games, so they can say they were there in 2018.
- Ride the Portland Arial Tram and see the city from a different view
The 500 foot climb up over the Portland skyline will give your child a different view of their home town.
- Meet the Robots at OMSI
OMSI’s newest exhibition, Robot Revolution, just opened. This exhibit allows you to get up close & personal with some of the coolest robots ever created!
